DENiM Requirements & Architectural Approach report sent to External Expert Advisory Board (EEAB)

A key aspect of the DENiM project is engaging with relevant stakeholders to ensure the project is on the right trajectory from a scientific, industrial and impact perspective. To support this, the project has invited a number of external experts from various background (e.g. Industry4.0, digital technologies, energy management, policy and standardisation) to engage and provide guidance on the project activities. The initial engagement with the DENiM EEAB has been very positive and fruitful for the project. They have helped re-enforce the DENiM concept and inform the requirements and architectural specification of the DENiM digital intelligence platform. The project have…

Holistic Modeling for Continuous Performance Assessment

Holistic Modeling for Continuous Performance Assessment started in April 2021 and continues up to year 2024. This work provides energy-centric modeling-related information, capabilities, and tools for the implementation needs of the DENiM platform. So far, the main progress has been made in the detailed planning of tasks and in gathering all relevant information and data from the modelling point of view. During the first year of the project, both the development of data quality service and energy modelling principles have been in progress. Integration of the quality component into the DENiM interoperability manager has been completed and demonstrated. In addition, the…

Requirements Specification for Collaborative Energy Management

The work on definition and collection of Requirements Specification for Collaborative Energy Management started on the beginning of the DENiM project in November 2020 and continued up to July 2021. The core objective of this work package was to inform the project foundations for technical development. This included a detailed stakeholder analysis, review of best practices and the identification of domain-specific requirements and reference scenarios for DENiM (Deliverable D3.1, Public). The initial design and specification of a digital maturity tool was also completed focusing on the industry sectors represented by the DENiM pilot sites with an emphasis on supporting energy efficiency.…

Standardization Workshop To Standardization Bodies #1

The first standardisation workshop for standardisation bodies was held on 24 November, an initiative organised by the sister project EnerMan (FoF-09 Cluster) with the aim of creating collaboration between bodies focused on industrial energy systems and energy management. DENiM was represented by the partner R2M who, following a general presentation of the project, described the standardisation activities carried out for the project and discussed energy efficiency guidelines, general requirements for energy audits and the energy management system. DENiM Workshop at Sustainable Places 2021

DENiM will participate in the Sustainable Places Conference 2021 to be held in Rome from 28 September to 1 October 2021.DENiM will be present in the “Pathways to Energy Efficient Manufacturing” workshop scheduled for September 28th from 15:30 to 18:30 CET.This workshop will increase collaboration between projects for sister projects FoF-09-2020 (DENiM, ENERMAN, ECOFACT and E2COMATION). To support the development of a more sustainable and energy efficient manufacturing industry, cross-cutting challenges such as digitization for energy efficient production (integration, data management and sharing, information modeling) need to be addressed, the energy twins for production systems (modeling, simulation) and monitoring and…

First workshops with the pilots

A first round of workshops with the pilots has been held starting April 13th, 2021. The main objective of the workshops was to start setting the scene for the environmental and cost analysis framework on the top of which the DENIM platform will rely for energy oriented optimisation. The workshops featured 2 moments: the first one dedicated to the introduction of the pilot as well as the presentation of the theoretical background of LCA and LCC methodologies; the second one focused on the discussion of the framing conditions that helped understanding pilots' LCA-LCC current situation, and highlight the gaps to…

First ENGINE Workshop

The first ENGINE workshop, an initiative aimed at creating a connection between H2020 projects, was held on Monday 12th April 2021. The EuropeaN diGital Innovation Network (ENGINE) was born as a voluntary initiative inside the H2020 Manusquare project and currently involves projects running under the H2020 framework, with the common perspective of fostering the sharing, dissemination and exploitation of up-to-date information about projects results and initiatives, in order to mutually extend dissemination channels, find connection points among the participating projects, and promoting networking and cross-fertilisation in the EU based digital innovation domain. The workshop consisted of two main parts: it…
